WEI JUN FA /

Graphic Design / Interior Design / Photoshop / Illustrator

Hello,My name is Wei Junfa. For a long time, I worked as a graphic designer — I loved playing with colors, typography, layouts, and visual storytelling. That journey taught me how to tell stories through images and gave me a deep appreciation for aesthetics. But as life often goes, while doing all that, another voice slowly grew inside me: “Could I exist beyond just the flat surface?” So I started exploring interior design and spatial design. To be honest, moving from 2D to 3D feels a bit like… drawing a line on paper, and then suddenly being able to walk into the space that line creates. How light flows, how materials talk to each other, how people move through a space — all of this feels fresh and incredibly exciting to me. And I don’t plan to stop here. Next, I’ll be diving into architecture. Yes — from graphic design, to interiors, to spatial design, and then architecture. Step by step, I want to understand how an idea evolves from a rough sketch into a structure that you can touch, live in, and be moved by. I’m still at the very beginning of this journey, figuring things out as I go. But I’m truly looking forward to bringing all the visual language I’ve learned from graphic design into a more dimensional, more tangible world.

TAIPO LIBRARY /

What is the future of the library in the age of AI? In the past, the library was a "warehouse for accessing information." But today, AI can generate vast amounts of information, fabricated histories, and flawless images in a single second. The digital world is characterized by "frictionlessness, weightlessness, timelessness (instant generation)." Elsewhere, the future library might be defined as an interactive, experiential, communicative urban living room. But here, at the Old Tai Po Police Station, I am inclined to define it as "a substantial tome about time"—the traces of years. So today, we are not "building" a library at the Old Tai Po Police Station; we are "opening" it. "If the Old Tai Po Police Station is a book, then time is the ink with which it is written." The ground level preserves the station's original architectural vocabulary. It is a vibrant "present time," open to the public. The underground space, then, leans toward thought and spiritual reading. The underground is not a place, but a state—where time no longer passes, but settles. Each step is an inward descent; each sinking strips away appearance. When noise is filtered by stone walls, when light and shadow freeze below, one shifts from "having time" to "feeling time." AI can replicate information, but never this existence: a person encountering themselves in silence, reading, in the windowless depths, the forgotten pages.
